Call of the Mountains

A unique collaboration between musicians from Kazakhstan and Drake Music Scotland – the only place you’ll find iPads and kol-kobyz, alongside cello, flute and piano. Eegeru Ensemble are trailblazers in their use of traditional Kazakh instruments, like the kol-kobyz and dombira alongside classical instruments, and in a daring twist they will premiere a new work by Scottish-based composer Clare Johnston which broadens the ensemble with cutting-edge technology and digital instruments. The concert will also feature pieces commissioned by Eegeru Ensemble and a performance of a new work by Digital Orchestra. 'Extraordinary multicultural union (Scotsman).
