Phil Bancroft's Standards Trio

Phil Bancroft is ‘an internationally renowned saxophonist’ (Jazzwise) best known for his whole-hearted improvisatory style that takes the listener on a powerful emotional journey, which for most of his career has been within new music. This wonderful body of original work can be heard on his innovative web-platform myriadstreams.com, but here Phil explores a collection of beloved tunes from the Black American Jazz Tradition – Ellington, Mingus, Monk, Rollins, Coltrane, Ornette Coleman – with this excellent trio of long-term collaborators Mario Caribe (bass) and Tom Bancroft (drums).
