Between the Lines: Music, Poetry and the Spaces Between

Nicola Burnett Smith, together with her ensemble of actor-musicians, explores how the written word can ignite and inspire musical composition. A performance of provocative and intriguing vocal/instrumental compositions including the spellbinding Stabat Mater, a work commissioned by poet Phil Vernon in 2019. Demonstrating her considerable skill on vocals, clarinets and saxophone, the performance will feature her compositions Mina’s Waltz, Account by the Murderer’s Wife, Shapely Wound and Dancing Green, inspired by the poetry of Anna Kisby, Sylvia Paskin and Claire Booker as well as new works never before performed. www.nicolaburnettsmith.co.uk
