Mister Shakespeare
An incomplete work. Who was William Shakespeare? Much is known of his works but who was the man? This new play by an award-winning writer explores the husband/lover/entrepreneur/actor during the course of this brilliant play. Shakespeare in his lodgings is visited by the voices of his life: his Father, his late son Hamnet, his wife Ann and various flunkies and actors, even King James, examining the inspiration for his plays King Lear, Antony and Cleopatra and Macbeth. This is an evocative depiction of London and Jacobean England during the plague, and of a genius in isolation.
