Edinburgh Youth Orchestra Summer Season 2023

Edinburgh Youth Orchestra performs an exciting programme of orchestral music to celebrate its summer season. Bernstein Candide Overture will be followed by Scott McAllister's Led Zeppelin-inspired Black Dog for clarinet and wind ensemble featuring talented clarinettist Raj Bhaumik. Young jazz pianist Ben Shankland joins the orchestra to complete the first half with Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue. The second half is devoted to the hugely popular Romeo and Juliet Suite by Prokofiev which draws on a kaleidoscopic orchestral palette. An undoubtedly great repertoire for this vibrant young orchestra of over one hundred players.
