A recital presenting some of the varied piano textures and rich harmonies of the Romantic period: Handel in the Strand (Grainger); a delightful miniature from Greig – his opus 1/1; two studies by Scriabin; a Spanish dance from Albeniz; all followed by Liszt's Benediction de Dieu, one of the best pieces from his Harmonies Poetiques et religieuses. Finally, Schumann's Carnival Scenes from Vienna Opus 26, five pieces showing the composer as introvert and extrovert but mainly the latter. A recital of sound pictures.
